Stichting Afrika Daryeel is founded in 2000 by a group of Somali Diaspora in Netherlands. Afrika Daryeel supports some small projects such as paying teacher?s salaries in an elementary school and an intermediate one in Abudwaq (Central Somalia) and assists orphans in different ways. At the moment Abudwaq has 2 elementary schools and intermediate one, reconstructed with the support of Afrika Daryeel. Teachers in the Afrika Daryeel Schools needed to improve their capacity building in order to ameliorate their teaching methodology. These teachers also need to learn how to deal with war traumatised and in marginalised economic situation. Afrika Daryeel Somalia needs to increase their school management program and create a good working relations and cooperation with other schools such as HIRDA and IQRA. Teachers have to be equipped with sound understanding of pedagogy and child psychology, especially in hardship circumstances. Acquisition of education planning, pedagogy principles and school management are badly needed. Therefore Afrika Daryeel (toghether with Abudwaq branch office) submitted a proposal for teacher training with the objective of upgrading the pedagogical, planning and managerial skills of the teaching personnel in order to contribute to the quality of education. In the Netherlands Afrka Daryeel will organise two events in order to raise awareness on education in Somalia. The contribution of Linkis will be ? 6.955.
